Introduction

It all started 25 years ago with an inkless binning project for the Semiconductor industry.

Moving from ink dots on semiconductor wafers to the so-called electronic wafer maps.

Saving time and improve quality, no process needed anymore to put ink dots on the fail dies, by having a correct electronic file with the data for the assembly process.

Now days semiconductor processes can be found in many other processes, like the creation of photonics component, glass wafers for the medical industry, creating mems products, but also the creation of small medical devices on wafer, processing them layer by layer.

Problem Description

There are tools available to support the standard process of handling wafer maps for the semiconductor process, but many times, it is limited to basic wafer layouts with basic functionality. But those days more is functionality is more than welcome. Think about editing wafers, having die traceability, produce at more than one location, and the use of subcons, so data exchange is needed as well.

Solution

For all of those processes a substrate map becomes handy to store this information from process step to process step.

MapSuite helps in many industries to have this process in place, and make sure the right data is available for the next process steps.

MapSuite is built with many years of experience, and therefore a very flexible web based solution that can work stand-alone, or being integrated with equipment connectors and MES systems for example.
